Release of Marilyn Howshall's New Book

Empowering the Transfer of Moral Values and Faith

Marilyn Howshall is the developer of the Lifestyle of Learning approach to home education and author of Wisdom’s Way of Learning. She taught and ministered nationwide in the home education arena for eighteen years, authoring numerous books and articles, speaking as a key speaker at several state conventions, holding women’s retreats, and hosting, along with her husband (and at times, their children, Kathryn, John, and Jennifer) their own two-day conferences for parents. Jim and Marilyn are so grateful the Lord sustains them and considers them faithful to His call to restore family relationships through the preaching of the Gospel."

How have the principles of Empowering the Transfer of Moral Values and Faith brought change to you and your family?

“Before my mom and dad began to learn these principles, I had strained relationships with my family, especially with my dad. I didn’t know him very well and I didn’t care to. We had lots of misunderstandings where we both got upset. We didn’t do very many things together as a family. I used to think that I really needed my friends and I felt really sad if I couldn’t be with them. Now our family is so changed! My dad and I both understand each other and if we have a conflict, we know how to resolve it quickly. My siblings are my best friends now and we love doing things together and being with each other. I have no thought or desire to rebel against my parents because I love being with them so much, and they understand me.” – Rachel; age 16

“Although I’ve spent many years in church leadership, I have never known such a sweet fellowship with the Lord like I regularly experience now. I came to see that I had many misconceptions about God and my relationship with Him. At this time, I continue to know His unconditional love at greater depths, and I am able to extend the same kind of love to my children and my husband. Because of my growth process, I have been able to direct my family’s hearts toward each other and toward the Lord. I am so grateful for the many miracles God has done in us through our discipleship in the principles of Influential Parenting.” – Barbie; Mother"

“I’ve been an angry man. I released my anger on my family at home while appearing to be a godly Christian man to others. If the kids or my wife did anything that I perceived reflected badly on me I would be frustrated and get angry about it. I convinced myself that it was their fault. My anger caused my family to want to avoid me. After being discipled in these principles, I am free from my self-centered need to look good, and from my bondage to anger and frustration. I don’t yell at the kids anymore and now they want to be with me and have my help with their projects.” – Tim; Father
